EVELINA – The power mama behind The Birth Poster
Evelina Westman is The Birth Poster’s co-founder, Creative Director, and artist. With her Scandinavian roots and passion for timeless design, Evelina has created unique baby illustrations that lay the foundation of The Birth Poster. Her art has now been sold in over 100 countries so that parents all over the world can forever remember how tiny their little babies were when they came to the world.
What’s the best part of being a mum?
Being a mum has changed the way I look at life and I feel so grateful for the smallest things. Gratefulness that turns into so many happy and joyful moments every day. Your kids give you so much love in return which really compensates for all the sleepless nights, numerous diaper changes, and endless breakfast negotiations.
How can the world be better at empowering women and strive for equality?
If we want the world to be a better place, with more equality between genders, we need more education for all. I feel very lucky to be Swedish, everyone has the right to free education. Wouldn’t it be amazing if we, one day, didn’t need to have a day called International Women’s Day?
What do your Birth Posters mean to you?
The Birth Poster means so much to me at so many levels. To me, it is not just a memory on the wall where I am every day reminded about the two best days of my life. The Birth Poster IS my life. It’s the company that my husband, Gustav, and I have built from the ground up, and our whole lives circles around it. The Birth Poster is the little baby that I love to work hard for every single day!
